I didn’t have as many problems planning an outside wedding as I thought I would. It turns out that it was a lot cheaper in cost than it would have been to have an indoor wedding. Since we had the beauty of nature all around us, it wasn’t too expensive to decorate. The first thing on my agenda was to find that perfect place to hold our summer wedding and reception party. I thought about a super beach wedding and reception, or maybe have it in a gorgeous garden, but I decided to have our ceremony and reception in the park. I found there were several great locations that would work out perfectly for an outdoor wedding.

I wasn’t really sure where to start, so I shopped around for some much needed suggestions. When you plan to be married in the great outdoors, it seems you have to have a backup plan just in case the weather turns from sunny to pouring buckets. So we arranged to have a tent set up to move the ceremony into if necessary, just as a precaution.

Plan “A” was setting up a gorgeous trellis for our ceremony to be performed under and canopies for the reception. The only real decorations I needed were those for my wedding table and the guests reception tables. About all I needed were a extra flowers and my table settings, thanks to the already present beauty of the park. I thought artificial flowers would be best, since we didn’t want a bee invasion ruining our ceremony. You couldn’t tell they were artificial they were so beautiful,they looked like the real deal. Planning this wedding wasn’t all that hard, but there was a little more than I expected. You want to make sure you have plenty of citronella candles scattered about, and that the rest rooms are within walking distance, and make sure your frosting on your cake doesn’t melt in the heat.

There was a variety of accessories available for the outdoor reception. I had little park bench place card holders at each table setting, and little citronella votive candles in glass globes with a nice flower arrangement as our centerpieces. For each of our guests there were beautiful chrome bottle openers in lovely designed favor boxes, as a summer wedding theme. The most beautiful part of our wedding table was our cake with it’s gorgeous wedding cake topper.

I saw this cake topper when I was checking out all the wedding accessories they had to offer, and I knew this was the topper I wanted. They were customized toppers for the wedding couple. They put our faces on our cake topper, and all I had to do was send them a photo of me and my fiance. How could I ask for a better wedding keepsake than that? Our friends and family were really loved the cake topper and gave us a lot of compliments on it. All the wonderful accessories I ordered for our reception and wedding ceremony came from the same place, including our champagne flutes and silver cake set. Everything at the wedding and reception were fantastic. Plan B never had to be used, since the weather was so beautiful, and thankfully it remained that way through the whole evening. We all loved the super DJ and the fantastic job he was doing, and if I’m right, he probably kept the music and dancing going on for quite a while after we left to go on our honeymoon. Everyone commented on what a lovely ceremony and super reception we had. The park turned out to be the perfect place to have our wedding and reception. They were made of glass and the form of a bunch of grapes, and in the middle was a place for the card to sit. They made the tables at the reception sparkle.
  I know I couldn’t have had such a wonderful reception and décor if I hadn’t taken advantage of the fantastic selection of glass favors they had online and crystal wedding favors they had online.    A hearts wedding was what I had decided on for our wedding and reception theme. There was just so much to work with at the online shopping store to make everything as romantic as I wanted it to be.  I even thought about having a big cupid hanging in the reception hall, but my fiance thought that was going a little over board, so I skipped the cupid idea.    When the invitations were completed, I had to go forward with putting together the exact products that I would use. I selected a red velvet set of ribbons and bows that I would put on the end of and string between the church pews. On the scene at the wedding, we put many pink and red roses mixed together, in the floral bouquet that I carried. It may have been a touch extravagant, but I’ve always wanted to have doves released as we left the church building, so we did, and it I thought it was wonderful.

   The wedding apparel that would be worn by those who were going to be in the wedding had already been selected. I picked out a white satin basket that had bows and lace decorating it for our flower girl. There was a white double hearts wedding themed pillow with a pair of gold hearts on it that we got for our ring boy to use, along with a white ribbon made of satin for the rings. My flower girl was going to wear a small tiara, and it was very similar in appearance to the one I had picked out for myself. She wore a pretty pink dress, made for a flower girl, and she did such a wonderful job as a flower girl and looked so brilliant that I thought she did look like royalty. The ring boy was just as cute in his small tuxedo and red boutonniere, and he did his task just as well. When he walked, he didn’t get out of sync with everyone else, and he bore the rings in distinguished fashion. They both made me very proud.

   The centerpieces we had made up for the reception dinner had tiny hearts intermixed with roses that were white, pink, and red. I got a place card holder that was the prettiest I had ever seen for each place setting, and two hearts wedding candles that made it feel like love was in the air. The wedding favors we got our guests should be a terrific souvenir from our wedding; they had handles in the shape of a heart attached to tiny silver bells. There were frosting hearts all around the bottom layer of our wedding cake, and each layer was decked out in pink and red roses all around. Our hearts wedding cake had a white porcelain topper on it that complimented the rest of our cake décor beautifully.
Our entire wedding day called to mind love and Valentine’s Day, filled with flowers and hearts galore. I feel fortunate that I was able to use the Internet to the extent that I did because it made everything much more efficient.

It was a beautiful monogrammed cake topper with our initials in brushed silver with little sparkling crystals to add that certain elegance to an already perfect topper. We had a lovely knife cake serving set too, with handles that were designed as bride and groom wedding attire. Our table at the recpetion shone brilliantly with crystal glasses for the champagne and wine, and the rest of the tables there were just as pretty. Everyone had champagne toasting flutes to go with the china I chose and the fantastic place card holders I found online. These placecard holders were really quite unique in style. The place cards went on top of a daisy petal, and the daisies sat inside a wee flower pot.
Our caterers really outdid themselves with fantastic dishes and desserts and four different salads to choose from. We got some really top-notch musicians to play at our banquet hall for the reception. My man knows some people, and he managed to bring in about the most talented group in our locale. Whatever song you wanted to hear, this group could do it really well. The band made our first dance as husband and wife a very memorable moment indeed. One attendee at our wedding walked up and offered them a good chunk of change to come and play in about a month at his son’s engagement party.
Everything at our wedding and reception was spectacular and it just couldn’t have been better. We will have a lot of memories captured between the photographer we had there and the video that we shot of our ceremony and our first dance. I’m glad I thought to buy two wedding photo albums, because there was definitely plenty of pictures to store away. I also bought a table top album to have on display in our living room. It has two pretty hearts on a silver metal frame, and it looks fantasitc. Oh, and then I got a photo album for our honeymoon pictures as well, since I knew that Cancun would have plenty of opportunites for taking great photos. I was quite ready for us to take all kinds of pictures during this special period in our lives.
Having all of my relatives and other loved ones watch my man and I say our vows together was unforgetably romantic. I will hang on to the many pictures and souvenirs that I have from our wedding day, forever. There were a lot of good memories of the honeymoon, too.

You can definitely call their wedding romantic with all the heart wedding accessories they had for decoration. Everything that had anything to do with the wedding had a heart design, the invites and gifts and everything. The RSVP info was printed on the attractive heart favors, which each had a pair silver hearts on their covers. They were really quite beautiful. Two wee hearts hung from their unity candle, which was flanked by taper candles sitting in very fine-looking holders. The altar looked fabulous with all the lovely flower bouquets and the candle setting. They even had hearts hung on the end of each pew with the tulle draping from row to row. The fact that they tied the knot on Valentine’s Day no doubt had something to do with the whole hearts idea. It was an incredible wedding, highlighted by a bride that was so lovely, she could have been an angel.
At the reception there were hearts and flowers everywhere you looked. The silver hearts wedding theme carried over to the place cards holders at the reception tables, and they complimented the red and white rose centerpieces beautifully. The wine glasses and champagne glasses made the tables sparkle. She really did do a bang up job on table décor They had their names and the date of the wedding inscribed on the wine glasses, and the champagne flutes were crystal. For the bride and groom, there were a couple of very richly adorned champagne glasses. They had a silver double hearts wedding insignia embossed on them, very similar to the hearts wedding invitation they sent out.
They had a five-layer hearts wedding cake that was really yummy. It looked as good as it tasted. They had a personalized wedding cake topper that was a spitting image of the two of them; come to think of it, this may have been the only item in the whole wedding that wasn’t a heart. The wedding cake topper was special, the only one of that type I’ve ever been exposed to. She picked it out on the web; in fact, it was the same site she purchased her other supplies and things for the wedding from. She took some pictures of her groom and herself, and from that, they put together a cake topper that could have been their twins. That’s something they’re going to enjoy looking at for many, many years.
We had a splendid wedding heart, in fact they gave us two thank you gifts. One gift was an adorable votive candle holder, and the other was a package of coffee, decorated differently for the ladies versus the men, that came with a heart-shaped utensil to scoop the coffee with. I thought that was really a cute idea they came up with. Actually they had a lot of cute ideas for the ceremony and reception. The whole hearts genre matched Valentine’s Day, but I was still surprised at how many supplies and wedding items she found to fit that theme. In my opinion, the wedding cake topper took the cake, so to speak. It would be great if they did that for birthdays and other ocassions too. She told me they have supplies and decorations for many events, and promised to show me where she shopped. They couldn’t have put it together any better, and all of the people who went had a smashing time there. Their Mexico honeymoon is probably even more fun than the wedding was. I’m looking forward to hearing all about it, and checking out the photos when they get back. From the pictures on the pamphlets she had, it looks like a beautiful place to visit.

I associated babies with childhood, and I associate childhood with Ernie singing ‘Rubber Duckie You’re the One’ on Sesame Street. It seemed like a longshot, but I checked to see if there were any duck wedding favors available anyway, and I was pleasantly surprised. It was a lot simpler to put together such a baby shower than I anticipated it would be, especially with all of the outstanding input I gleaned from suring the Internet. There are a lot of adorable little duck favors and decorations to be found on the internet for baby showers and even toddler birthday parties.
I put tables that could seat four apiece in my basement rec room since that was plenty big enough for this size crowd. I put baby shower gifts in one corner, and then at the opposite end of the den was a table with appetizers, drinks, deserts, and a layered cake in the form of a rubber ducky and the words baby girl written on it. There were posters of Donald and Daisy Duck, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, and the rest of the Disney cast all over the place, and the Daisy Duck one was huge.

The punch bowl had ducks painted all over it, as did the plates, napkins, glasses, and favor candles that each guest received as a gift. I went to a department store and purchased a little duck shaped baby bathtub and placed a glass punch bowl inside. It was really kind of cute. I also bought duck molds and filled them with yellow colored water for duck shaped ice cubes. I took my duck idea to great extremes.
On the world wide web, I found a bunch of great ideas, and that’s pretty much where I found everything I needed, but I did get a few recommendations from some of the people at my school. The people at the shower thought they were to die for, and they got handed out to the winners of the games we did at the shower as well.
I put some rubber duckies in a large, square-shaped, makeshift tub that I filled with water before anyone got to the shower yet. Underneath every rubber duck, I wrote a number, and the each guest plucked one out of the water as they arrived. A couple of hours into the shower, I picked a number out of a jar, and the person with that numbered duck received an award. We also did the old game where you try to guess which person belongs to which baby picture. The guests were told in advance to take a baby picture of theirs to the shower with them, and then we put them all on a board and put the board in the front of the room. Each guest got a chance to check out the board and see how many pictures they were able to match up with the faces of the other guests. The winner was the person who guessed right on the most of them, and they were awarded a shower favor.
We had a lot of fun, great laughs and the mother to be got some really neat gifts for her little girl. I’m so glad I found this idea for the baby shower online. At first I wasn’t too sure about it, but it turned out to be a really great baby shower. Going with the whole duck genre worked out swimmingly.
