It was a lot easier than I thought it would be to plan my outside wedding and reception. It wasn’t as expensive as an indoor wedding would have been. Since we had the beauty of nature all around us, it wasn’t too expensive to decorate. The first thing I had to do was to find the perfect location to have our summer wedding and reception. Instead of having our wedding ceremony and reception on the beach or in a garden, I chose to have it in the park. I found several perfect parks that would work fine for our wedding day.

I decided to go online and get some expert advice on how to plan the perfect outdoor wedding. If you’re going to have your ceremony outside, it’s a good idea to have an alternative plan just in case the weather turns on you. A tent was suggested just in case the weather turns out badly.

Plan “A” was setting up a gorgeous trellis for our ceremony to be performed under and canopies for the reception. The only real decorations I needed were those for my wedding table and the guests reception tables. With the beautiful background of the park as our main décor, all I really needed besides table settings were a few extra flowers here and there. I thought artificial flowers would be best, since we didn’t want a bee invasion ruining our ceremony. The flowers were absolutely gorgeous and didn’t look artificial at all. Although planning wasn’t as difficult a chore as I thought, there were quite a few things to take care of. You want to make sure you have plenty of citronella candles scattered about, and that the rest rooms are within walking distance, and make sure your frosting on your cake doesn’t melt in the heat.

I found quite a few terrific accessories that I could use for the reception. As centerpieces for our reception tables I used citronella votive candles and place them in glass globes with flowers around them, and used park bench place card holders for each guest. The chrome bottle openers we bought for our guests were packaged in beautiful favors boxes and given out as a summer wedding favor. The most beautiful part of our wedding table was our cake with it’s gorgeous wedding cake topper.

I found it while browsing online for my other wedding accessories, and fell in love with it. They were customized toppers for the wedding couple. All I had to do was send in a head shot picture of me and my fiance and they custom made a bride and groom cake topper with our faces. Talk about the best wedding keepsake you can get. Everyone at the reception had something to say about how unique it was. Everything I ordered for our ceremony and reception was the best in wedding accessories, especially our crystal champagne flutes and silver cake serving set. It was amazing all the super accessories you can buy online.

Well, the wedding was beautiful and the reception was just as perfect. Thank goodness the weather stayed perfect throughout the entire ceremony and reception and we never had to put plan B into action. The DJ we hired was really exceptional and I’m sure that the music played on long after my new husband and I left for our honeymoon. Everyone commented on what a lovely ceremony and super reception we had. I couldn’t have picked a better place than the park for our wedding ceremony and reception party. If we celebrate one of our anniversaries with a wedding renewal, I want to have it in a gorgeous park again.
